Abstract

The objective of this article is to know what are the factors that influence on employment, considering the working conditions (salary and working hours) as well as the labor benefits (social security contract, Christmas bonus and vacations) of postgraduate doctors enrolled in the National Register of Quality Graduates (PNPC) of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) and know if there are differences significant before and after obtaining the degree. For this purpose, an online questionnaire was applied and with the information collected, a model of structural equations was constructed to evaluate the direct and indirect effects of different factors that, according to the literature, intervene in the conditions of employment of a person. The factors that were identified as influential are: a) the quality of postgraduate programs, b) the opportunities for linking offered by HEIs where the doctorate is studied, c) socioeconomic conditions, and d) personal networks of graduates made during your postgraduate stay.
