This paper analyzies news and research related to changes in the consumption habits of food products in Brazil from March to July 2020, during which the world has been facing the Covid-19 pandemic. It seeks to identify changes in consumer behavior in the food sector in order to propose new design solutions. To achieve that, exploratory bibliographic research was carried out on news sites, government agencies, research institutes, journals and webinars, followed by a descriptive analysis of the results. As a conclusion, a table presents the current situation in Brazil, listing the changes identified in consumption habits and the possible solutions that may be used for new food packaging designs that satisfy the needs of consumers in situations of pandemic, social isolation, and mobility restrictions.
