Abstract

Questionnaires applied to parents are instruments frequently used when assessing communication abilities in infants. This work aims to show the results of the application of a questionnaire to a group of mothers whose children have neuromotor disorders. Age of the children and history of language disorders were variables that showed to be related to significant differences among mothers' answers. The correlation between the answers of the questionnaire and results of the assessment of communication abilities carried out by clinicians was studied. Characteristics of the children, features of the instrument and the applicability of the questionnaire when assessing small children are discussed.
